COMMUNITY BASED MENTORING"Our waiting list of children varies by area. We are primarily in need currently for Male volunteers to be Big Brothers. Our primary areas of need in Lee County include: Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, North Ft. Myers, and Downtown/East Ft. Myers area. Please note the following requirements for the Community-Based Program:
Must be at least 18 years old Must sign up for one year of service
Must be an area resident for at least three months
Must complete paperwork for background check and 3 references plus supply $25 to pay for the background screening
Must have acceptable driving record and provide a copy of license and auto insurance card
Must agree to visit with your "Little" for an average of 10 hours per month, (providing your own transportation) doing activities within the community.
BIGS IN SCHOOLS PROGRAMMust be at least 16 years old or a Junior in high school
Must provide 2 references if over age 18 and 3 references if under age 18.
Must complete paperwork for background check and provide $25 for background screening (fee is waived for students)
Must sign up for one year of service
Must be able to visit your "Little" weekly (providing your own transportation)
Must be an area resident for at least three months
SPECIAL EVENT COMMITTEEWe are always in need of creative, fun, and passionate people to work on our special events throughout the year in Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Naples.
